Next SANE Meetingses

A good time was had by nearly all of us on 9/11 (2007), and all attendees might be pleased to note that I am currently untangled, fingeratively speaking.

We have entered an age of creative anarchy. If anyone would like to step forward and lead us through some creative process, by all means, squeak up. There may be a vacuum there. Or we might just be so good that we don't need no stinkin' teachahs.

But we have ventured so far as to schedule the next two meetings and projects (and I am afeared that the heavens will fall upon us). They are:

Tuesday, 16 October 2007 (place TBD)
Make a mask (halloween or otherwise). Free-for-all, bring what you wanna & how you wanna. If you wanna, bring more of what you wanna, in case somebunny else wanna too also mebbe.

Tuesday, 13 November 2007 (place TBD)
Decorate a Box. Metal, cardboard, paper, straw boxes. Get your mind out of the Internet. Decorated with any little thing your mind (again, back out of the Internet) can imagine. More detail might be coming soon. "Bring your own box and decorations" would be my guess.

Winter Solstice Dinner:
Do we do a pot-luck this year? Will we descend upon some 'nother poor soul's abode this time?

SANE Meeting 9/11

Next Meeting: Tuesday, Sept 11, 2007, 7:00 at Pam A's

Project: By an overwhelming vote, this month's project will be Bring Your Own (...Project), and we'll all sit around Pam's table engaged in parallel play. We will all no doubt peer over your shoulders and ask questions, so be prepared to either defend your choice of project OR deflect attention elsewhere.

We also have to plan our meetings for the current year, as much as we ever do. What do we wanna do for projects? When/where are we going to be for the Winter Solstice Dinner? Will we ever play poker for real cash moneys? Which third-world country shall we invade THIS year?

(Now that I think about it, Turks & Caicos never did send a thank-you card for all the wonderful crafts our invasion troops left behind last year...)

Help decide the fate of the club, and plot out its future -- and be sure to bring snacks for me to munch on!

Project: as yet unspecified. We could always play poker (the only thing I had mentioned in a previous post, tho I think generic poker would wear better than Texas Grasp-Them.

Ms Bestey has suggested "friendly plastics," but I believe she was proposing this as a project for the NEXT meeting, and was gonna proselytize for it at THIS meeting (bring quarters!).

Nobody else done made suggestions, so here are a few:

a) Independent Play: bring a project of your own devising, and we'll all work independently
b) Gimp. Or Gorp. Gasp!
c) Stamp Carve-a-Thon. Bring sharp implements and soft substrates. Callers can pledge money for exclusive U.S. stamping rights.
d) Scriptwriting: Everybody bring in a chapter of a movie script you've been writing, and we'll combine them and start looking for the green light.
e) Practice cup-stacking. Try to beat the 14-second record.
f) Film our own UFO hoax. Belmont invaded by giant pie plates.
g) Discuss philosophical and metaphysical ramifications of Harry Potter-style witchcraft, and its effect on US foreign policy.
