SANEsters,
Update - due to underwhelming demand, there will not be a Swap, Yankee or otherwise, at our Tuesday, 11 Dec LambsagnaFest & Be-In. If you have bought gifts and cannot return them, send them to a relative, and chances are if they have a sense of humor, they'll appreciate it, and if they don't, they just won't understand it and will smile artificially and thank you anyway. Just sayin'. Last year we threatened to contribute money to a cause like Heifer International, then when the day came we all forgot to talk about it.
Mollo wondered about whether veg need to be cooked along with li'l Lambs. Versus separate. If you want to weigh in on this matter, please commune with Mollis directly.
Remember, Tuesday 11 Dec at St. M & P's place, park in the lot nearby. Bring yourself and significant others and the food item you mentioned in your RSVP. If you haven't RSVPed, it's not too late -- yet! Right now we have 15 people slated to attend. We could feed more!
Sue you seen!

SANE Winter Solstice Be-in
SANEsters,
We had a very productive meeting cutting the ends off bottles and chaining candle bits inside 'em, and them what was there was entertained and impressed, by crackee. Okay, some crackeed, so if you're going to do this in the future, you might want to consider thinnish glass, as in water bottles, that aren't made for champagne pressures. Just sayin'. But it was easy, and Pam had all the fixin's, and kudos-and-a-half to her for the idea and preparation,
Plans for the Winter Solstice Be-in and LoveFest are firmer, so here is what we got so far:
Appetizers and dinner at Mary & Phil's on Tuesday 12/11/12 (so numerologists amongst us can spend a quiet 12/12/12 at home with loved ones, waiting for the aTwelvealypse. I don't remember if it happens at 12:12:12 am or pm, or what time zone, but if you are a numerologist, you'll probably already know.
Mary's bringing tables & chairs and making her famous lasagna.
Leslie - potstickers & dessert
Pam A - appetizer & bread
Richard - salad
Molly - a leg o' lamb
Betsey - dessert
That's who was in attendance, anyway. Hope all the rest of youse can come! We're in the market for a veg or two, so sign up soon! And let me know (even the ones on this list) how many chairs we ought to set out!
Then there's the question of whether or not to hold a Yankee/Dutch/Vermillion Swap -- Y'all wanna spend $10 per gift to participate? If so, a preferred style/procedure? Or not? Please weigh in on that issue, too, when you RPPP (respond please pretty please).
Looking forward to a pleasant time before the holidaze get all hectic!

Fwd: Bottle/candle idea...
SANEsters:
The November SANE meeting is Tuesday Nov 13 (location TBD)
I think Pam came up with a good alternative to the archivin' of the SANE projects, which maybe we can do as a homework assignment or three, throughout the rest of the year. So if you haven't already, empty out a bottle and bring it on Tuesday, and we'll make purty candleabottlas. Don't know how much the kit to do this cost Pam, but we should bring enough to reimburse her for same.
Bring a calendar, too, and we'll figure out the date and place of trhe SANE Winter Solstice Mass Consumption event in ?December ?January?
Pam writes:
Anyone interested in making these (see picture below) at our next meeting?I've got everything but the bottles - yes it would be a BYOB (bring your own bottle) meeting!! Prefer the bottle to be empty, clean and label-less (if that's a word). If the bottle has an etched label - that's okay. Any bottle will do, round are much easier to cut and colors are pretty cool - so - drink up this weekend if you want to do this on Tuesday!! ;)--Pam A.

November Meeting Tues Nov 13
SANEsters,
Okay, the next meeting is Tuesday, Nov 13 -- the week after the election -- and the current plan is to have everyone bring their best/worst/most photogenic/etc. projects from the 87 years of SANE and we'll photograph them and figure out something to do with them. No doubt put 'em in a book and sell it on Amazon and divide the profits equally. That's $0 to everybody!
Alternately, you could dredge up your old projects from your project drawer/box/closet/garage/freight car and get some good snap of them in action/on white/on black/drenched in mud/etc., to contribute to the overall photofest. But there is no doubt value in ganging several projects by different people in the same shot/sequence. Remember sock puppets? remember Chindogu? remember the kaleidoscopes? Take a photo thru the lens, maybe?
Or, if you can come up with a real project in the next week (deadline Tuesday, 30 October, 12midnight), you can postpone the photofest to another night.
We had a good bendy people meeting, and all the bendy people should definitely come back and get a portrait together.

Oh, and be thinking about the Winter Solstice Get-Together and Mass ConsumptionFest!
